FPC Columbia October Benevolence Spotlight:

Place of Hope

Place of Hope is a Christ-centered fully licensed facility providing free drug and alcohol treatment programs. It includes a homeless shelter and aftercare services such as individual and group counseling, spiritual support, relapse prevention groups, and transitional housing. The current facility was opened in 2000 at the former Bel Air nursing home and has 64 beds and 72 bathrooms as well as a medical clinic, industrial kitchen, dining room and areas for meetings and therapy. First Presbyterian Church has supported this ministry for many years and is blessed to be able to continue support. The need for this facility and all its programs never goes away.
